Ron Dreskin has over 20 years of senior financial and operational
experience in the healthcare industry. In 1996, he founded Integrated
HealthCare (IHC) and has steered its growth and client mix to its current
success. Mr. Dreskin has provided senior assistance to a number of projects,
including the following:
Mr. Dreskin assisted the department of surgery of a major academic medical
center with developing a new business strategy which provides cardiac
surgery services to other hospitals nationally. He helped to determine the
feasibility of growing this initiative and developing the economic
underpinnings of a successful business model. Currently, he is moving the
project to the next level by implementing the business infrastructure and
marketing initiatives.
A specialty teaching hospital in NYC retained IHC to explore international
opportunities. Mr. Dreskin helped to define and test business opportunities
in the United Kingdom to leverage this client’s expertise in the area of
orthopedic surgery. This project resulted in the development of a clinical
consulting arrangement between the hospital and the National Health Service
(NHS).
A major academic medical center in NYC asked Mr. Dreskin to assist with the
recruitment of a leading cardiologist and his team from another NYC hospital. Working within the university recruitment team, he developed a financial
strategy to turn this effort into a reality.
Mr. Dreskin serves as senior advisor to the nation’s largest group practice
focusing on women’s health care, comprised of over 150 physicians. IHC
performs assessments of member groups and assists with profit improvement,
governance and operational restructuring. By understanding both the
corporate perspective and on-site realities, Mr. Dreskin has been
particularly successful in translating concepts developed by the corporation
to benefit individual groups.
Mr. Dreskin provided interim leadership while serving as the CFO of a
university medical center, assuming fiscal responsibility of a $1.0 billion
budget. Essential projects included faculty practice reorganization, debt
services restructuring – which successfully reduced debt by $2 million
annually, audit and renegotiation of hospital/university agreements, and
formalization of the budget process.
Prior to starting Integrated HealthCare, Mr. Dreskin served in a senior
capacity to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center (CPMC) for 14 years. He
served as Executive Director of CPMC’s Allen Pavilion Hospital, a full
service 300-bed community hospital in New York City. Mr. Dreskin also served
as Interim CFO in the hospital’s transition management team and is a faculty
member of the Columbia University School of Public Health.
Mr. Dreskin is past Chairman of the Board of The Nathaniel Witherell, a town-run
nursing home located in Greenwich, CT.
Mr. Dreskin has also served on the board of Promesa, a non-profit community
service organization in Bronx, NY and is a past President of the Board of Casa Promesa, its affiliated nursing home.
